TalkTrue Behavioural & Positive Psychology Coaching

My coaching is practical, practice-based and psychologically informed.
Times at the moment are both challenging and overwhelming. Everyone is feeling the strain. My coaching can help you to:

  • Increase your confidence, mental robustness and motivation – improving confidence, performance and resilience at work and at home.
  • Change behaviours and unhelpful thinking patterns, which work against you and not for you.
  • Change in personal approach to produce higher commitment, better relationships and more focus on action and regular practice to sustain benefits
  • Understand and develop your personal ethos – understanding one’s own values and successfully applying them in life to improve relationships, engagement, connecting, influencing and role-modelling.
  • Transform your anxiety and worry to peace of mind – using mindful breathing and mental discipline to get ‘back on focus’ and off unwelcome threat-related stimuli during meetings. Use mindful breathing to improve your listening presence and to make stronger connections. Be more emotionally connected and attentive in your relationships; more ‘being’, less ‘doing’.
  • Grow your authentic leadership approach – more confident and effective leadership being demonstrated – changing from ‘command and control’ to a more facilitative, coaching and enabling approach

In my experience, real and lasting personal change only comes through ‘looking inwards’ at oneself, through a positive, strengths-based lens. Helping you towards stronger self-belief and mental robustness is at the core of my coaching offer. This will enable you to build healthy and rewarding relationships and greater personal resilience; in life as well as in the workplace.

Working with Organisations

I am also experienced working on behalf of organisations to help coach their senior personnel, to build their confidence, resilience, improving their performance and motivation.
I use psychometric diagnostics including 360-degree feedback, MTQ (Mental Toughness Questionnaire) and VIA (Values in Action Strengths.

Ensuring Sustainable Benefits

In my experience, real and lasting personal change only comes through ‘looking inwards’ at oneself, through a positive, strengths-based lens. Helping you towards stronger self-belief and mental robustness is at the core of my coaching offer. This will enable you to build healthy and rewarding relationships and greater personal resilience; in life as well as in the workplace. My coaching clients have included senior leaders in Surrey County Council, Alzheimer’s Society, British Society for Immunology, Westminster City Council, Department of Health, Department of Justice, Princess Alice Hospice, St Peter and St James’ Hospice and the private sector.

I employ a coaching approach which is centred in unconditional positive regard. My coaching approach is a blend of Behavioural Coaching and Positive Psychology, strengths-based coaching. I use active, reflective listening, empathy and understanding to build a trusting client-coach relationship.

Behavioural Coaching is a structured process employing objective assessment tools, then focuses on action, goal-setting and regular practice, aimed at to helping the individual to make positive and sustainable changes in their life.
Strengths-based coaching has been shown to increase hope, make the client feel more energized and increase their ability to generate solutions. Research in the workplace shows that focusing on employees’ strengths can lead to increased employee engagement, productivity and optimism.

Organisational Dimension

The uniqueness of my coaching offer is that I bring both substantial practical professional experience as a senior HR and OD specialist together with a 17-year coaching track record, underpinned by the most current scientific research into positive behavioural psychology.

Therefore, my approach is practical, practice-based and psychologically informed, utilising real-life case-studies, which benefit from my own strong understanding of how organisations work. Consequently, where it is helpful, I can bring an important ‘mentoring’ factor to my coaching.

Psychological Dimension

We are all working in an increasingly fast-paced, changing and challenging world, which tempts us to seek quick but short-term fixes. In reality, this rarely leads to real and lasting change. Often improvements to performance and circumstances can be best assured through small yet significantly impactful internal personal changes, helping clients to explore growth and performance improvement through better understanding themselves. I use three methods of assessment to help clients to explore opportunities through better understanding themselves:
